To install WinGate on your machine, you will have to download an executable, run it, and then click through the instructions presented by a setup wizard. It must be mentioned that this setup wizard will ask you to choose the packages you want to install: WinGate service (components required to run the WinGate service), WinGate Management (user interface for managing WinGate), and WinGate Network Driver. In less than 5 minutes you should be done with downloading, installing, and getting WinGate up and running. A video that details the process is available on Qbik’s YouTube channel.

Access to WinGate’s functionality is done via the WinGate Management user interface. It is made up of three panels. In the upper left hand side there’s the Navigation panel that lists a variety of features and functions. Select an entry from this list and more info about it will be presented in the main panel of the interface. In the lower left hand corner there’s the Tasks panel. Overall, the interface is not difficult to figure out.

From a functionality point of view, WinGate has the following key functions to offer: secure and managed internet access, enforce use policies, real-time usage monitoring, per-user and per-service audit logs, prevent inappropriate content on the network, comprehensive email services, protect servers for threats, improve network performance and responsiveness.
